Common questions

Is 25,000 IU a lot?
Yes. The general upper limit for adults is 10,000 IU a day from supplements, so this potency is meant to be used under practitioner direction, not as a daily multivitamin.

Who should not take it?
Do not take it if you are pregnant or could become pregnant. Talk to your practitioner first if you have liver disease, drink alcohol regularly, or take other vitamin A products, retinoid medications or blood thinners.

How is it different from beta-carotene?
This is preformed vitamin A (retinol), so your body does not need to convert it.

How do I take it?
4 capsules a day, ideally split into two doses with meals, or as your practitioner recommends.

Who should check with a practitioner first?
Anyone taking a blood thinner such as warfarin (it contains vitamin K), anyone with kidney disease or a history of kidney stones, and anyone on thyroid medication or antibiotics. Calcium can interfere with some of these, so take them at least 4 hours apart.

Why is there vitamin K in a bone formula?
Vitamin K helps direct calcium to bone. This formula uses both K1 and the longer-lasting K2 form, MK-7.
